McLaren Elva - extreme roadster for purists

The McLaren Elva - An extreme two-seater

It comes from the Ultima series, the new McLaren Elva. The Elva is McLaren Automotive's first open road racing car. The extreme two-seater with its carbon fiber chassis is reminiscent of the famous Bruce McLaren M1A and the McLaren-Elva M1A from the 1960s

Distinctive appearance

The appearance of the McLaren Elva is as distinctive and unique as the driving experience. The low front and pronounced front fender tips add wow factor while improving forward visibility. Large, carbon fiber reinforced rear fenders flow from the front of the door to the rear. An extendable rollover protection system is integrated into the two humps.

Safety-conscious pilots should of course wear helmets or at least goggles on their roadster trip. A fixed windscreen variant of the Elva is also available as a factory option for most markets.

Active Air Management System replaces the windshield

With no windscreen, no roof and no side windows, the Elva will allow you to experience the road and race track up close. A street-legal extreme roadster, so to speak. The Active Air Management System compensates for the windshield. Airflow is channeled through the front of the Elva and exits through a vent in front of the occupants. Thus, the passengers sit in a more or less air-free space.

When driving slowly, the system is inactive. As the vehicle speed increases, the AAMS deploys automatically. It "manipulates" the airflow and stays active until the speed drops again.

The Elva is faster than the McLaren Senna

[dropcap size=big]815[/dropcap]The McLaren Elva is the lightest road vehicle designed by McLaren Automotive to date. Thanks to the 815 hp 4,0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, which was already in the McLaren Senna and Senna GTR works, the Roadster is faster than even the Senna. 100 km/h is reached in less than three seconds. It only needs 6,7 seconds to reach 200 km/h.

Puristic also means without a lot of gimmicks in the interior. An audio system is available as an option. A centrally mounted, high-resolution 8-inch touchscreen serves as the central interface for all vehicle functions. The system visualizes a range of applications on the screen, including satellite navigation, McLaren Track telemetry, reversing camera and climate control. The screen is mounted on a lightweight carbon fiber arm and tilted towards the driver.

The interior is lined with synthetic Ultrafabric. It is more durable and moisture resistant than leather. Anyone who likes individuality will be served tailor-made thanks to McLaren Special Operations. From choosing interior colors for Ultrafabric and leather to virtually unlimited exterior colors, just about anything is possible thanks to MSO.

Refined with 18k white gold and 24k gold

[dropcap size=big]18[/dropcap]The Elva can also be personalized with 18k white gold or platinum badges finished with a TPT inlay. The thin-layered carbon (TPT for short) consists of several ultra-thin layers of carbon with a depth of only 30 microns. Positioned at an angle of 45 degrees, they reveal a layered, shimmering surface when gently milled, reminiscent of flowing water. Additionally, MSO offers a 24k gold heat shield in the engine bay.
