We're talking about the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63, which now completes the ranks of top athletes at Mercedes. However, one has to bear in mind that he was not there without warning, but has paved his way.

It all started with the successor to the angular Mercedes-Benz GLK - the GLC, His new appearance initially brought four-cylinder engines on the map, but quickly around the Mercedes AMG GLC 43 were added. With his 367 hp, he led the field of the middle-class SUV and was able to Audi SQ5 with its 354 hp and the BMW X4 M40i with its 360 hp. Nevertheless, it was almost clear that the Stuttgart company would go one better - and this assumption has now become a reality.

The Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 already makes it clear from the outside that it not only acts as if it is, but it is fist-thick behind the inflated wheel arches. And of course not without reason: under the mighty hood lies a 4.0 liter eight-cylinder, which you already know from other AMG models. In the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63, it manages 476 hp and is surpassed by the S with 510 hp. The unit develops 650 or 700 Nm of torque and is good for accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.0 or 3,8 seconds. This reflects the level of the AMG GT. Only it does not regulate top speed at 250 km / h.

But not only the unit of the Mercedes-AMG GLC63, which by the way is offered as a classic SUV with a combination rear or as a coupé, was touched. The Stuttgart and Affalterbacher donated the mid-size SUV an AMG chassis based on an air suspension. On the front axle one relies on a four-link construction, on the other hand an "old" acquaintance comes to work on the hindquarters: the rear axle comes from the E63 AMG. In addition, the GLC 63 drives up with a differential lock that comes from the C63. And so that the not exactly small Swabian can go around the corner as nimbly as possible, a rear axle differential lock was installed, which is electronically controlled on the GLC 63 S. Otherwise, the newcomer in the studio comes up with the 4Matic + all-wheel drive, which permanently engages the rear axle and the front wheels as required.

As we know it so far, the Swabians initially offer the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 as a limited Edition 1. This variant is painted in matt gray and has striking yellow racing stripes. In addition, the Edition 1 has 21-inch forged wheels with yellow trim and the Night Package. One thing is clear in the special model: understatement is different.
