NAIAS 2016: World premiere for the Infiniti Q60 Coupé

Most recently, Infiniti had worked with Mercedes support on a separate compact car family. The luxury brand of Nissan can do it alone, as it shows at the show in Detroit.

Infiniti has now presented a new mid-range coupe at the Auto Show in Detroit (January 11-24). The two-door Q60 is based on the Q50 sedan and also gets its entry-level petrol, a four-cylinder turbo with 155 kW / 211 hp, which transfers its power to the rear wheels. A newly developed three-liter V6 ranks above it, which, thanks to turbocharging, generates 298 kW / 405 hp and is coupled to an all-wheel drive as standard. There is still no information on mileage and prices. The market launch in Germany should take place at the end of 2016. Competitors include the Audi A5, BMW 4 Series and that Mercedes C-Class Coupe.

The Q60 is the successor of the Infiniti G 37 Coupe, the Nissan subsidiary between 2007 and 2013 had in the program. At that time, the 3,7-liter V6 vacuum cleaner from the sports car Nissan 370Z provided propulsion. With the new, probably more economical model Infiniti wants to continue its growth. A cooperation with Mercedes will also help, from which the A-class offshoots Infiniti Q30 and Infiniti QX30 emerged. 2015 sold the brand worldwide 215.000 cars, 16 percent more than last year.
