As long as the RS4 the A4-Not yet added to the series, the S4 is the top performer in the Ingolstadt mid-range. From this summer the sedan will be available for at least 59.300 Euro and the Avant from 61.150 Euro.
The S4 and its combination version are powered by a newly developed V6 engine with turbocharging. The 3,0 liter unit produces 260 kW / 354 PS. The 1.630 kilogram limousine is supposed to get up to speed 4,7 in 100 seconds, the 1.675 kilogram heavy Avant needs two tenths of a second longer for the sprint. The manufacturer specifies the average consumption of 7,4 liters per 100 kilometers (Avant: 7,5 liters). It is shifted via an eight-speed automatic, the power distribution takes over as with all S-model a permanent all-wheel drive.
Compared to the civil A4 variants, S4 and S4 Avant are lowered by 2,3 centimeters. At first glance, the strong middle class remains subtle, but is recognizable due to the aluminum-look exterior mirror housing, the spoiler lip on the trunk lid and the add-on parts painted in matt gray tones. At the rear, an aluminum diffuser clip and four tailpipes are striking.
LED headlights and taillights, 18 inch wheels, sports seats in front in Alcantara / leather combination and a multifunction sports steering wheel are standard on board. The black cockpit with aluminum inlays is also typical for S models.
