News: Citroen Cactus M Concept - The Méhari of the modern age

Without roof, but with water-resistant upholstery in the interior presented at the IAA the CitroenStudy Cactus M. The basis of the beach vehicle is the crossover C4 Cactus, which was set a few centimeters higher for the forced recreational use and slightly changed at the front and rear.

A roof is not necessary, because the seats are covered with waterproof neoprene and drains in the bottom, but can still be reared. Alternatively, it can be used as a tent. The concept is based on the legendary beach car Citroen Méhari, which also cites the study with the ribbed doors and the "M" in the name.

The choice of the C4 Cactus as a base is not entirely random. The robust planked small car is something like the modern revenant of the 2 CV ("duck"). This in turn served as the basis for the Méhari in the middle of the 60 years. Recently, Citroen seems to be thinking about a revival of the iconic beach car. The IAA study could be a first, yet off-series taste.
