News: Infiniti Q30 - Nippon-A-Class at the IAA

The Infiniti Q30 celebrates its premiere at the IAA in Frankfurt (September 19-27). At the end of the year, the first compact model of the Nissan luxury brand was launched in Europe, later in the rest of the world. The five-door was created as part of the Renault-Nissan and Daimler cooperation and uses technology from the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. Accordingly, the Q30 comes with front or all-wheel drive, four-cylinder engines and seven-speed automatic. The new entry-level model of the brand is being built by Nissan in Sunderland, England.

In addition to the Q30, Infiniti will also offer an SUV variant of the compact model under the name QX30. The offshoot of the Mercedes GLA should start in the second half of 2016. Prices for the models are not yet known. In this respect, the Japanese in Germany usually remain slightly below the Mercedes level and also offer extensive equipment. The Mercedes A-Class currently starts at just under 25.000 euros.

The Q30 is the first Infiniti model from the cooperation with Daimler. Renault already has common models in Kangoo (Mercedes Citan) and Twingo (Smart Forfour). In addition, the A-Class already uses French engines. The production of a Mercedes pick-up based on the Nissan Navara has also already been announced.
