News: Kia Optima Kombi - The more important variant

Shows at the Geneva Motor Show (March 3 - 13) Kia the combi version of the Optima. While the sedan has been available in Germany since January, the more practical variant of the Korean middle class will not be available to dealers until September. For them, the estate car offered for the first time in this series is the much more important car, Kia Germany managing director Steffen Cost expects that four out of five Optima sold will be delivered in the room version.

While the front of the vehicle is identical to that of the sedan, the differences are naturally found in the rear. There is a trunk with a volume of 4,86 liters hidden behind the large tailgate of the 553 meter Optima.

Kia uses exactly the same range of engines as the sedan. A 1,7-liter diesel (104 kW / 141 hp), a 2,0-liter petrol engine (120 kW / 163 hp) and the turbo petrol engine for the GT version with 180 kW / 245 hp are available. The Koreans rely on manual or automatic six-speed gearboxes. Only the automatic is offered for the top GT model, and there is also a seven-speed double clutch for the diesel. There will also be a hybrid variant for the station wagon, which will also be shown in Geneva.
