News: Kia Sportage - no longer good at all

Celebrates at the IAA (17. To 27. September) Kia the premiere of the best-selling Sportage model in Europe. Now the manufacturer has published the first photos of the compact SUV, which show that the fourth generation is visually very different from its well-designed predecessor.

Relatively flat A-pillars, the roof sloping slightly towards the rear and a longer wheelbase now make the compact SUV appear more dynamic

Especially the face of the Sportage is now more expressive. While the radiator grille and headlights formed a single unit in the previous model, the lights that are slightly pulled back are now positioned higher up. The grille is wider and set lower, it has the so-called tiger nose shape typical of new Kia models.

The bonnet is more contoured, overall the Sportage is now more powerfully modeled. Relatively flat A-pillars, the roof sloping slightly towards the rear and a longer wheelbase now make the compact SUV appear more dynamic. Horizontal lines dominate at the rear. The narrow back people are now connected with a chrome strip.

The Korean design was created under the direction of the European Kia design center in Frankfurt. While the Sportage shows its face for the first time in Frankfurt, the Hyundai Tucson is already on the market at the start of the fair. The Kia shares the technology with the sister model. In the new edition, a dual clutch transmission is likely to be used, all-wheel drive is available for an additional charge.
