News: Land Rover Defender - Dino does not step down yet

Land Rover sends the Defender into extra time: Originally, the production of the SUV should be discontinued by the end of the year, with three special models celebrated the British already the end of the Defender era, but will still be produced until the beginning of next year. The reason for this, according to Automotive News, is the high demand.

The Defender will run until the end of January in Solihull, the English factory of the brand, from the band. In order to be able to meet the demand for the angular all-wheel drive, a second production shift was also introduced there. In the first half of 2015 alone, Land Rover has sold 11.500 Defender, 2014 17.780 copies throughout the year.

The Land Rover Defender has been built since 1948, the only major technical intervention was well over 30 years ago. However, the robust technology has had its day - also because the new EU requirements for pedestrian protection with the angular body can no longer be met. 2016 should be a new edition of the model for Europe - then, of course, with modern technology.
