If the well-known LC 500 is powered by a powerful but thirsty naturally aspirated V8 engine with a displacement of five liters and 348 kW / 473 hp, the Japanese use a 3 kW / 13 hp for the 500h debut on the combustion side at the Geneva Motor Show (March 220 to 299) powerful 3,5 liter V6 petrol engine. In combination with an electric motor, this directs up to 264 kW / 354 hp towards the rear axle. As with the business sedan GS 450h, the LC is equipped with the well-known planetary gearbox with a two-stage gear reduction, which should improve both the acceleration at low engine speeds and the top speed. Despite the comparatively manageable engine power, Lexus specifies a Tempo 100 track value of less than five seconds for the LC, a maximum speed is not yet mentioned. The same applies to consumption, which should also benefit from the reduction.
