The new top version of the mid-range series comes in mid-September Skoda Octavia RS 230 on the market. In the sedan (from 33.490 euros) and station wagon (from 34.150 euros), a strengthened version of the 2,0-liter turbo gasoline engine delivers 169 kW / 230 hp. In the standard RS, the unit develops 162 kW / 220 hp. Thanks to the small power syringe, the top speed of the sedan increases by 2 km / h to 250 km / h - the highest value for a production Skoda.
Equipped in this way, the Octavia accelerates from zero to 100 in 6,7 seconds. The manufacturer specifies the consumption on 100 kilometers with 6,2 liters. As with

An premiere in the new top-of-the-range model is an electro-hydraulic front axle lock, which distributes the drive power between the wheels with the help of a multi-plate clutch. Up to 100 percent can be directed to the wheel on the outside of the curve, which is to minimize understeer in tight bends. In addition, the RS 230 has special 19 inch alloy wheels, black painted details and an integrated stopwatch for lap time measurement. Additional horsepower and additional equipment are also reflected in the price. The standard model RS is cheaper with 30.490 Euro 3.000 Euro. Among the competitors of the fast Czech is the smaller VW Golf GTI, which is available in the same performance levels. There the prices for the 230-PS variant start at 30.400 Euro.
