News: Skoda Rapid Spaceback - Refreshed in the new round

The Rapid Spaceback occupies in Germany in the internal Skoda- Sales parade behind Octavia, Fabia and Yeti, although only fourth place, is the only real offer in the compact class of the Czechs. For model year 2016, it was now refreshed like the notchback version, which, however, hardly plays a role on the German market. The engines meet the requirements of the Euro 6 emissions standard, and modern infotainment and assistance systems can be found in the five-door model on request. The hatchback now starts in conjunction with the 66 kW / 90 PS strong 1,2-liter turbo gasoline engine from 15.590 Euro. Air conditioning is not included in the base price, but now the multi-collision brake is always part of the standard.

The Rapid Spaceback closes the gap between the Fabia small car and the Octavia, which has meanwhile grown to a medium-sized car. The 4,30 meter long vehicle gives the golf connoisseur and competes against Seat Leon, Renault Megane, Hyundai i30 or Kia Ceed. E can now be recognized by a new instrument cluster. The side indicators are now housed in the exterior mirrors. The top equipment version Monte Carlo includes black painted alloy wheels.

As before, the engine range includes five engines. These include three petrol engines and two diesel. They cover a range of services between 66 kW / 90 PS and 92 kW / 125 PS. Only the two TSI engines with 81 kW / 110 PS (six-speed gearbox) and 92 kW / 125 PS (seven-speed DSG) are not delivered ex factory with a five-speed gearbox. After the switch to Euro 6, they have all become more economical. The 1,4-TSI with 125 PS is the energy saver. It now uses around 20 percent less fuel than before. Volume aggregate is an 1,2-liter turbo with 81 kW / 110 PS (from 21.480 Euro), which is content on average with 4,8 liters (CO2 output: 109 g / km).

Assistance systems such as fatigue detection or city emergency braking as well as modern infotainment systems including a smartphone connection are now optionally available.
