VW T-Roc R Concept

At the Geneva Motor Show VW shows for the first time the T-Roc in the particularly strong R-version. The is close to production, but officially declared as a concept.

The popular as driving high seats SUV have longitudinally a disadvantage: they put too much face in the wind. If you want to be particularly fast, you have to produce a lot of power. In the future, VW will generously make this available to the R version of the T-Roc. 221 kW / 300 PS make the at the Geneva Motor Show (7 to 17 March) officially still debuting as a concept compact Kraxler anyway, quite afloat.

With 300 PS under the hood: VW T-Roc R

Already visually, the T-Roc unmistakably recognizes as a muscle type. The lower front gunner features wide, side openings flanked by black glossy frames and vertical LED daytime running lights. The rear end with indicated air vents, diffuser and four exhaust tips, also promises a sporty driving experience. The interior has been upgraded with door sills and pedals in stainless steel, R embroidery on the seat backs, velor seat backs, sports leather steering wheel with paddles and black headliner.

The sprint time from standstill to Tempo 100 should take less than five seconds

The centerpiece is a two-liter gasoline engine capable of delivering up to 400 Newton meters in combination with a seven-speed DSG and four-wheel drive, allowing a sprint time from standstill to 100 km / h in 4,9 seconds and a top speed of 250 km / h. To bring the performance potential with pleasure on the road, there is standard sports suspension, lowering, 18-inch wheels, progressive steering and an 17-inch brake system, which was previously reserved for the Golf R Performance. As a special feature, the T-Roc R offers an additional driving profile called Race Mode, in which at the touch of a button, some vehicle parameters convey a maximum of sporty driving feeling. In addition, there is the possibility to disable the stability program ESC. Finally, a launch control should guarantee optimal sprint behavior.

Also inside it is sporty and also a little more noble than the normal T-Roc

VW does not yet give an exact market launch date, but prototypes close to series production are often declared as a concept at trade fairs because it takes at least six months for the market launch. In this respect, an appointment after September seems likely for the T-Roc R. One can still speculate about the price, but the technology brothers Golf R and Audi SQ44.000, which cost around 2 euros each, give a clear clue here.
