The S-Class is not the most luxurious model from Mercedes. It only becomes that when it says Maybach on the back. Then there is also more power.
The Mercedes S-Class, which was re-launched last year, can now also be ordered as a Maybach at prices starting at around 164.600 euros. The normal S-Class as the S 580 top model costs 126.400 euros. Like the previous generation, the new edition of the luxury version is characterized by a chrome-heavy front design, special wheels and Maybach logos on the C-pillars. A two-tone paint finish in 15.000 color combinations is also available for an extra charge of almost 10 euros.
The new Maybach variants are designed as chauffeur-driven limousines, which is why they have a wheelbase that is 18 centimeters longer than the long version of the S-Class. The Mercedes flagship extends over almost five and a half meters. Executive seats in the rear are part of the standard equipment. The rear area is also enhanced by large wooden trim parts on the back of the front seats. With the chauffeur package, 4D surround sound system from Burmester and active driving noise compensation, Mercedes promises a comfortable place to work or rest in the rear. The extras include two silver-plated champagne goblets with brackets (3.808 euros) as well as rear passenger detection that automatically extends the headrests. Adaptive rear lighting or the sun blind for the panoramic sliding roof, which can be controlled by hand gestures, as well as a rear entertainment system with two large 11,6-inch displays (2.558 euros) are also available.
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is offered with two drive variants. S 580 is the name of the version with 370 kW / 503 hp 4,0-liter E-Boost V8. S 680 is the name of the 6,0-liter V12 engine, which with its 450 kW / 612 PS and 900 Newton meters enables the sprint from standstill to 100 km / h in 4,5 seconds. Cost point for the twelve-cylinder: from around 217.300 euros. Both engine variants are combined with 4Matic all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering.
