Nissan Qashqai 3

With the presentation of the new Qashqai, Nissan still takes a little time. However, the Japanese give a glimpse into the modernized interior beforehand.

In the spring, Nissan is relaunching its successful Qashqai model. The Japanese have not yet revealed what the third generation of the compact SUV will look like and which engines it will get. Just like the prices; the Qashqai currently starts at around 21.200 euros. The Japanese carmaker has now revealed details of the interior, in which a lot will change.

For riders of all sizes

Thanks to the body, which has grown by around 4 centimeters to 4,43 meters in length, the future Qashqai will offer more space. According to this, the headroom should increase by a good 2 centimeters, while the development leeway for the shoulders of the front passengers and the knee room in the rear increases by 3 centimeters each. According to Nissan, the increased adjustment range of the driver's seat should also allow drivers between 1,45 and 1,92 meters to be seated appropriately. The enlarged windshield and narrower A-pillars ensure better visibility. Thanks, among other things, to a lowered trunk floor, the volume of the luggage compartment increases by 10 percent to over 500 liters. Nissan has also improved the Flexiboard cargo space system and integrated a 12-volt socket. In the future, 1,5 liter bottles will fit in the door pockets.

Thanks to new surfaces, materials and ergonomics, the interior of the Qashqai should convey more value. The downsized selector lever for the automatic is presented as a flatterer, while the drive mode switch on the 4WD variants has a chrome ring and piano lacquer. There is also a new ambient light in white, a new nappa leather for the seats with a 3D diamond quilted design and massage functions in three stages for the two front seats. Thanks to the Bose sound system, Nissan is also taking the compact SUV to a new level in terms of sound.

Large displays for modern technology

The displays in the Qashqai will in future be entirely digital. In the basic version, the display behind the steering wheel is 7 inches and in the higher-quality versions 12,3 inches. There is also a 9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system and a head-up display with a lush 10,8 inch diameter.

The third Qashqai generation also comes up with new connectivity functions for this model. These include smartphone integration via Apple Carplay or Android Auto, real-time traffic information, wireless map updates, WiFi hotspot, as well as app control and remote vehicle monitoring. With the latter, the user can lock and unlock the Qashqai or see whether it is currently exceeding a travel time or a certain zone. The parking location can be displayed using the “My Car Finder”. The app also includes a special theft tracking function that establishes contact with the police and customer service. In the event of a breakdown, it is possible to contact the nearest breakdown service via the 24-hour service center.
