Number of trucks in Germany

Trucks are part of the streetscape. And there are more and more.

The impression that many motorists give is not deceptive: there are more and more trucks on German roads. Their number has been increasing continuously since the 60s and has increased almost fivefold in the past 60 years. While there were around 1960 trucks in 681.000, around 1.1.2021 million were registered on January 3,4, 2008. Only during the financial crisis of 2009/XNUMX did the number of trucks drop slightly, as can be seen from the Statista chart based on data from the Federal Motor Transport Authority.
