Many motor sports teams are convinced of the Porsche 911 GT3 R racing car because of its good-natured handling and speed. The 2012 model year brings some new improvements to the Porsche GT3 R for Porsche's customer teams. Porsche 911 GT3 R models from 2010 and 2011 can be upgraded accordingly with an upgrade kit.

The engine output of the boxer engine was increased by 20 additional hp to 368 kW or 500 hp. Shift paddles on the steering wheel ensure even faster and easier gear changes and make it easier for the driver to concentrate on the braking process. The transmission electronics also make it almost impossible to change gears and overrev the engine at the same time and automatically double-declutch. Any understeer is reduced by a softer stabilizer on the front axle.
The increase in performance of the four-litre six-cylinder boxer engine at the rear results from an optimization of the intake tract. The translation of the sequential 6-speed dog gearbox has been adjusted to the higher maximum power. Since model year 911, the 3 GT2010 R has had sophisticated traction control as standard so that it can deliver its performance to the track safely and in a way that the racing driver can control. A powerful racing ABS assists the driver when decelerating.

Above the 911 GT3 R is the 2 GT911 RSR, which is built as a GT3 racing car and is used, for example, in the Le Mans Series, the American Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The new Porsche 911 GT3 customer racing car should be available to teams around the world in November 2011. The sales price is EUR 304.500 plus the applicable VAT. Porsche 911 GT3 R racing cars from model years 2010 and 2011 can be upgraded to the 2012 version. An upgrade kit is available from Porsche Motorsport for 43.100 euros.
