Porsche increases operating profit to 1,5 billion euros

Sports car maker Porsche achieved an operating result of 2011 billion euros in the first nine months of the 1,51 fiscal year, exceeding the comparable prior-year figure of 1,21 billion euros by 25 percent. Sales and earnings significantly exceed the previous year's figures.

Porsche AG's sales increased by 20 percent to 7,93 billion euros. Sales increased by 26 percent to 85.872 vehicles. Overall, sales in the Asia / Rest of the World region increased by 54 percent to 31.954 units. In America, sales increased by 17 percent to 24.839 vehicles; of these, 22.307 units (plus 15 percent) were in North America. But in Europe, too, the growth rate in the reporting period was in double digits at plus eleven percent overall, with sales totaling 29.079 vehicles. On the German market, sales in the period from January to September 2011 increased by five percent to 10.422 units.

The number of vehicles produced rose by 38 percent to 93.799 units. Of these, 67.432 new vehicles were made in Leipzig alone: ​​46.223 Cayenne units rolled off the assembly line at the Saxon plant in the first nine months of the fiscal year, 86 percent more than in the same period last year; for the Panamera, the increase was twelve percent to 21.209 vehicles. 15.709 vehicles from the 911 series left the Zuffenhausen plant; this means an increase of six percent. Production of the Boxster series increased by 16 percent to 10.658 vehicles; of these, 6.249 units were Boxsters and 4.409 vehicles were Caymans.
