Porsche Panamera Diesel - Gran Turismo with a 250 hp diesel engine drives 1200 kilometers

The sporty gran turismo from Porsche gets a boost with the Porsche Panamera Diesel. The new Panamera Diesel is an economical touring sedan with a range of over 1.200 kilometers from an 80-litre tank filling.

This distance is possible when the optional low-resistance tires are used. Thanks to its consumption of just 6,3 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers in the “New European Driving Cycle”, the Porsche Gran Turismo with a diesel six-cylinder can theoretically get from Bologna to Berlin with just one tank of fuel. With the standard tires, consumption of 6,5 l per 100 kilometers is still very low for a vehicle in this category.

The smooth-running three-liter V6 engine, whose rated output of 250 hp is available between 3.800 rpm and 4.400 rpm, masters Alpine passes and brisk intermediate sprints without any problems. The maximum torque of 550 Nm, which is constantly available at engine speeds between 1.750 rpm and 2.750 rpm, promises a high level of pulling power. In cooperation with the Porsche eight-speed Tiptronic S, the turbo diesel six-cylinder accelerates the new Porsche Diesel to 6,8 km/h in 100 seconds. The Porsche Panamera Diesel reaches its top speed at 242 km/h.

Direct injection and emission control

The three-liter, six-cylinder V engine in the Porsche Panamera Diesel represents the very latest in diesel technology. Direct injection with 2000 bar common rail pressure via piezo valves and exhaust gas cleaning through regulated exhaust gas recirculation. It is charged by electrically controlled turbochargers with variable geometry and oxidation catalytic converters as well as particle filters. The standard auto start-stop function contributes greatly to economical touring. This adds smooth running, reliability and low emissions to high performance, powerful torque and low consumption.

In terms of driving dynamics and comfort, the new Panamera Diesel is a genuine Porsche Gran Turismo. Adaptive air suspension is available on request as an alternative to the standard steel spring chassis. This enables a very wide spread of the chassis characteristics. This means increased driving comfort on the one hand and very sporty driving dynamics on the other.

The Porsche Gran Turismo consistently goes its own way when it comes to interior design and tailor-made comfort for each individual occupant. Despite its flat and stretched appearance, the Panamera Diesel offers a generous amount of space.
