SAVE THE RING - The resistance has got a face!

added: I haven't paid much attention to it for a long time. Everything will be fine. Everything was still going well. Yes, the state government of “whatever” (I'm from Bavaria, are there other federal states? - If so, how many?) has created a mausoleum up there. But I'm only interested in the ring. The races there. The racing cars, the actors and my free time that I spend there.

Meanwhile, more than just leisure. For the first time in 2013, I was with the VLN accredited and with Mike I have an “old acquaintance” who keeps telling me “stories” about this “Nurburgring scandal” told. Good, I thought to myself. Everything will be fine! Let them just sell the ring. I thought to myself. What is supposed to happen? They won't spoil my fun. Or? If it were all that dramatic, then a proper resistance would be formed. People would protest, raise their voices loudly, there would be someone who would then take it into his own hands.

Well - I was wrong. Wilhelm Hahne's notes were really helpful to me when dealing with the entire scandal motor-kritik.de, Wilhelm Hahne comes from a racing driver family and is a real one Motor journalist. So real that I know people who call him a “nest polluter.” Of course that makes me really curious. The motor industry is often a real swamp, should there be someone who doesn't let that get them down? Someone who tells the truth, even if PR departments and public relations close their doors in insult? That's what impresses me. And so I have mine, little by little, because the rooster has already extremely much about the Nürburgring scandal written, read the articles by him. And I was shocked.

Not about what happened. This is just the usual politicians' clan. Satisfied Prime Minister profile neuroses and the usual - completely unrealistic behavior of non-motorsport freaks. Year-round destination or not - I was not surprised by the amount of money turned into concrete. The steel was bent into a roller coaster, but there was never much more going on than an RTL-F1 commentator, either.

No - I was shocked that there really is no organized resistance.

There are many small Groups. There are opinions, many congruences. But whenever the “mob” forms to resist, it takes someone to take the lead. An organization is required. But what is needed above all is “a name” that gives the resistance a face. And although at every VLN run many “professionals” shook their heads about what was happening here and is currently happening - none of those affected had the courage to stand up.

save the ring against the sale

This has an end now. The resistance got a face, finally an organized resistance against the sale of the Nürburgring is visible!

Sabine Schmitz and Christian Menzel called to Demonstration!

And after there were over 2.000 promises on Facebook, I was excited to see how full the fountain would be. On a Saturday three days before Christmas. Shivering temperatures just above and below zero, as always in the Eifel. And I was surprised. In the end it was probably over 2.000 people who followed the call to the Eifel. It seems that Sabine Schmitz and Christian Menzel have opened the locks.

Christian Menzel invited a total of 102 representatives from politics. Including the current Minister President. And mayor of the affected communities. In principle, he invited everyone involved to talk to the Eifel. But only four representatives of politics really had courage. I did not remember the names because I have no hope that one of the politicians who dared to do anything on the ground could really make a difference. The big decisions are made elsewhere.

Something completely different was important:

Resisting the sale of the Cologne Cathedral Nürburgringes must finally be organized and needs a face. Or two. Or three faces. And that must be people from the scene. People who can save an entire region with their fans!

My thanks therefore go to the organizers of the demo - first and foremost Christian Menzel and Sabine Schmitz, but also to the tireless Otto Flimm and the spokesman Hahne. But finally other active people from the scene have also become active: Dirk Adorf, Tim Schrick, Harald Grohs, Olaf Manthey, Jürgen Krumbach and Klaus Abbelen.  It was fucking time!

The demo on site today showed: It doesn't matter what time it is - whether it's 5 to 12, or 15 to 12 - politics cannot continue with the “Nürburgring” issue as before and I hope Christian Menzel's initiative will now pick up speed and other active motorsports people will remember the little bag between their big toes and finally show EGGS and mobilize their fans, their region and VERY IMPORTANT: the people's representatives they elected!

SAVE THE RING!

I am currently editing the film from the demo, which will be available on Youtube. I will link Mike's articles and whatever else will come here.
