With the upcoming Zafira Life, further PSA development will be making its way into the Opel range. This helps the former compact van to new size.
The Opel Zafira co-founded the segment of the classic compact van before 20. In its fourth generation, the Opel Zafira transforms from family to family van. With the addition of the name "Life" provided, he drives in future on a commercial vehicle platform of the new parent company PSA. It will be on show for the first time at the Brussels Motor Show (until 27, January) and will hit the market in February.
The fourth Opel Zafira generation is a true PSA plant and is based on the EMP2 platform. With its new size, it is located between the expiring models Vivaro and Zafira Tourer and is the sister model of the 2016 launched family trio trio Peugeot Traveler, Citroen Spacetourer and Toyota Pro Ace Verso.
The Zafira Life is also available in three different lengths: 4,60, 4,95 and 5,30 meters. Practicality over the predecessor increases, the cargo volume even the basic version is already almost 3.500 liter. The long version is around 4.000 liters. A separately opening rear window gives the practitioner more variability, while the panoramic glass roof, available at extra cost, dips the interior in bright daylight.
The first seat sample on the car show gives a foretaste of the future Zafira Life experience: On the generously dimensioned leather armchairs you get under neat, also the environment is airy cut - the room impression convinced. There is an optional eight-speed converter automatic transmission. Customers don't have to do without all-wheel drive either; 4 × 4 specialist Dangel, who has developed an appropriate solution together with Opel, will help here. A fully electric version is to follow in 2021. In terms of price, the Zafira Life should be roughly based on its French brothers, who start well below 40.000 euros.
