The demand for trucks and vans almost doubled in March compared to the previous year.
A strong March stabilized the European commercial vehicle market. With an increase of 95 percent to 204.000 trucks, vans and buses, the month also turned the overall balance for the first quarter into positive territory. According to the industry association ACEA, 501.700 new commercial vehicles have been registered in the EU since the beginning of the year, 21 percent more than in the same period of the previous year. There was particular demand for vans up to 3,5 tons: 419.260 units represent an increase of almost 24 percent.
