The electric sports car from BMW is a competition for Tesla

It was ten years ago that BMW caused a sensation with the i3 model designed as an electric car. However, experts missed the sporty and always luxurious driving experience that BMW is known for and what BMW drivers appreciate so much about the innovative compact Stromer. Now the i4 is coming and with this model, BMW wants to build on its brand DNA as usual, this time only electrically.

A little swipe

The people of Munich are so convinced of the success of the new model with electric drive that they could not resist a little swipe at the rival Tesla. It will be a few more months before BMW unveils its new model to the world, but the first data has already leaked. The i4 has an output of 530 hp and only takes four seconds to run from null to come to 100 km / h. After all, that's two seconds more than comparable Tesla cars, which are known for their lightning starts on a straight line. BMW: All e-cars can accelerate quickly if things go straight ahead, but that's not enough for BMW. So it is in the press release of the Bavarian automaker and it is to be understood as a swipe at Tesla.

A car, whe impression used for?

With the new i4, BMW wants to create “tangible driving behavior”, which is significantly more impressive than the capabilities of the electric car as a sprinter. A damper technology developed for this model is intended to reduce the submersion movements of the body at the moment when the car starts moving. The wheel slip limitation designed by BMW should also guarantee ideal traction and perfect straight-line stability at all times. Spontaneous reactions to every movement, not only through the pedals, but also through the steering, should also set the i4 apart from the competition from the USA. The range of 600 kilometers with a battery size of 80 kWh has already been determined. This places the i4 ahead of the Tesla Model 3 in terms of range.
