The AMG sports department of the car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz from Affalterbach has revealed its plans for 2016. Accordingly, a total of 17 new models or model variants are planned to be launched on the market over the next four years.

For some time now there has been talk of a direct competitor to the Porsche 911. The Mercedes SLC, which AMG is building itself under the internal designation R 190, is scheduled to appear officially in 2014. It is planned to offer the two-seater in a price range between 115.000 and 150.000 euros.

Plans Mercedes Benz AMG

In order to differentiate itself somewhat from the 911, a particularly light aluminum body will be used. A new generation of engines should then also be available for the Mercedes Benz AMG SLC to be developed. The roadster version of the SLC appeared about a year and a half later. For the SLC, AMG is planning a biturbo V8 engine with cylinder deactivation and 550 hp and 700 Nm.

Already next year one announces that Mercedes Benz SLS eDrive with electric drive. Many components should then consist of a light carbon fiber. Two more Black Series models will appear before the SLS is replaced in 2016. One for the racetrack the other as a street version.

In 2016, the successor to the SLS gullwing will be presented, which will then cost around 200.000 euros. With more carbon fiber and a further developed 6,2 liter V8 engine with 650 hp output, they also want to target the Italian sports car brand Ferrari in the future.

AMG also intends to offer an all-wheel drive option for all future models. Many models would also like to be offered in a hybrid variant.
