The RS e-tron GT - the powerful electric sedan from Audi

The big automakers have entered into a kind of competition over who will launch the better flagship among electric sedans. Now Audi is making its appearance with the RS e-tron GT. There are the first details regarding the drive, the technology and the price. At the same time, the question arises whether the Audi e-sedan can compete with the Taycan from Porsche.

Far-reaching plans

The traditional Audi company plans to bring 30 new models with electric drives and so-called plug-in hybrid models onto the market by 2025. The goal is to electrify every series. As far as the pure Stromer is concerned, the market is coming up very slowly, but is still picking up speed. With the e-tron and the e-tron Sportback, Audi already has two SUVs at the start, now followed by the e-tron GT, Audi's first electric car from the RS department. The company advertises with the "most powerful car that we have ever built at Audi". This means series production.

The data is impressive

The data that Audi has revealed about the new RS e-tron GT is impressive. 646 HP (440kW) in overboost, normally it is "only" 598 HP. A torque of 830 Newton meters and an acceleration of 3,5 seconds to 100 km / h. The RS e-tron GT is thus in line with the Taycan 4S and the Taycan Turbo from Porsche. There is one difference, however, because Porsche relies on more rounded shapes; at Audi, the angular design has prevailed. What they have in common is the weight of almost 2,3 tons.

The sports car for everyone who likes electric cars

The RS e-tron GT from Audi is close to series production and the sporty entry into the fully electric world of the RS series. At the same time, Audi is delivering on its promise to bring the RS models to the market as soon as they go with the basic model. The price has already been determined: 138.000 euros, but it is not yet known when the car will be available to buy.
