Already this Saturday, (28: September) the TMG GT86 Cup starts with two new teams in the next round who want to shake up the starting field.
The seventh run in the context of VLN (45, ADAC Barbarossa Award) promises thrilling overtaking maneuvers on the Nordschleife and even more excitement in the overall standings of the one-make cup from TMG (TOYOTA Motorsport GmbH): Jutta Beisiegel and Alexander Kudrass (Leutheuser Racing & Events) are currently leading with a wafer-thin lead over Wolfgang Kudrass (2nd place, Leutheuser Racing & Events) ) and Arne Hoffmeister (3rd place, Dörr Motorsport GmbH).
As if the fight for the championship victory shortly before the end of the season would not be nerve-wracking enough, go with Holvoet Racing and WH-Motorsport next weekend also two new teams at the start. Although the four new riders, Wolfgang and Kevin Hönscheid (WH Motorsport, Hennef) and Olivier Muytjens and Brody (Holvoet Racing, Belgium), can no longer win the overall standings, but are considered as additional competition in the hunt for important points. But who are the newcomers?
Olivier Muytjens and Brody (Holvoet Racing) have been a well-rehearsed team since 2006. Together, the Belgian compatriots can look back on a total of 28 years of motorsport experience and were able to prove this year at the "12 hour Bathurst" (Australia) that they are a strong duo.
Olivier Muytjens: "Brody and I wanted to start in a one make cup because, given the same conditions, each team has the same chance of winning. The TMG GT86 CS-V3 is not only a reliable car, but also brings a lot of driving pleasure and convinces with its potential. That's why we decided to take part in the TMG GT86 Cup. "
Wolfgang and Kevin Hönscheid (WH-Motorsport) shine as well-rehearsed duo, after all, this is a "father-son combination", which has often shared a racing cockpit in the past. Especially Wolfgang Hönscheid could easily be described as a Nürburgring professional, because the 49-year-old has been collecting racing experience on the Nordschleife for 30 years. Incidentally, motorsport is a "family affair" at Hönscheid. Mother Gaby supports her men at every race and is always on site. Therefore, it goes without saying that she will also be at the Nordschleife next weekend, "after all, motorsport is our life".
Kevin Hönscheid: "We wanted to compete on a high motor sports level as 'father-son-team', because the TMG GT86 Cup was the best option. Finally, the TMG GT86 CS-V3 offers great conditions: A rock solid, fast vehicle that is also affordable for private teams. We especially like that because of the regulations really every driver and every team have the same chances. This also promises a fair championship for the coming season, in which the driving skills decide on winning and not the financial resources that are available to a team. "
