A noble alternative to the next BMW M5: Alpina presented the new B19 Biturbo as a station wagon and sedan at the Geneva Motor Show (until March 5). The power models built on the basis of the BMW 5 Series draw 4,4 kW / 8 hp and 447 Nm from their 608 liter V800 engine, the power is distributed to all four wheels. In cooperation with an eight-speed automatic, the sprint from standstill to 100 km / h should be completed in 3,5 seconds, the manufacturer specifies the top speed for the sedan at 330 km / h. The BMW M5 expected for the end of the year can no longer keep up easily.
The B5 is equipped with all chassis technology that is available for the 5 Series, including rear-axle steering and roll stabilization. In addition to a sport mode, the adaptive chassis also offers a decidedly comfortable mode, which should make the B5 suitable for long distances. In addition, four-zone air conditioning, 20-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and comfort seats are included. The prices start at 112.000 euros for the sedan, the station wagon costs 115.300 euros. The currently most powerful BMW 5 Series (M550i, 340 kW / 462 PS) starts at 82.700 euros. (Holger Holzer / SP-X)
