The first special model of the current R8 series is only available 24 times

Audi is launching a special model of the R8 Coupé V10 plus called “selection 24h”. With the special R8, the aim is to bring the spirit of Audi's racing successes onto the road, including in various 24-hour races. Or in collector's garages, because only 24 copies are built.
The R8 V10 plus remains what it is on the drive. Mercilessly strong, mercilessly fast. 449 kW / 610 PS let the 5,2 liter 10-cylinder mid-engine release onto the four driven wheels. If necessary, they rotate so quickly that after 3,2 seconds from the start the popular value zero to one hundred has sunk and in the end 330 things can be scribbled into the driver's diary.
The homeopathically limited "selection 24h“Brings the dynamic steering (variable steering ratio), the adaptive damper control called magnetic ride and the LED headlights with laser light (the laser switches on to the LED high beam from 60 km / h) as an extended standard equipment.
Outside there are black sideblades and red accents on the body. It was dipped in one of the most casual car colors of the day, the light Suzuka Gray from Audi's special paint box. Black 20 inch alloy rims make contact with the ground.
229.000 Euros costs the special model. If you add the options that can also be ordered for the regular R8 V10 plus to the basic price, the specially painted R8 costs: 201.180 euros. That leaves a surcharge of 27.820 euros for a few more optical gimmicks such as the projection of an R8 logo onto the road, interior details made of shiny CFRP and the dream of sleepless nights: illuminated carbon door sills. At least they have the serial number from 1 to 24. And after the expensive eight- or ninth-car is only parked in the air-conditioned garage, the doors can then be left open. Perhaps Audi should think about an external power supply for the door sills.
