With the study of a sports sedan, Peugeot is showing the dynamic side of its upcoming electric offensive at the Geneva Motor Show (March 7th to 17th). The “Concept 508 Sport Engineered Neo-Performance” is an aerodynamically and optically optimized variant of the mid-range model 508, which has been equipped with a powerful plug-in hybrid drive. The well-known 1,6-liter gasoline engine with 147 kW / 200 hp takes on the role of the combustion engine, with two electric motors being used as support, one per axle. The rear one also produces 147 kW / 200 PS, the front one has 81 kW / 110 PS. This creates all-wheel drive with a total of 294 kW / 400 hp. This enables a sprint time of 4,3 seconds to 100 km / h, a maximum of 250 km / h is possible. The manufacturer specifies the range in E mode with the industry standard 50 kilometers. 

Peugeot called the study on an outlook on future sports cars of the brand. It seems likely that there will be an 508 version with electrical support. The mounted in the show car PHEV drive but it should also be in more civilized versions, such as in the SUV models of the Group brands. They want to launch numerous electrified new products in the near future, including pure electric cars. With the E-208 Peugeot shows in Geneva a corresponding model.
