Dauphin Speed Event - classic car collection
The sight of more than 150 automobile and 240 motorcycle rarities, which the Dauphin entrepreneurs have lovingly collected over the past 30 years, catches even insiders of the scene breathless: Polished to a high gloss, in the middle of a factory hall from the 60s that has been converted into an event location close to roadworthy and historic models of all major brands.
Dauphin Speed Event – 4000 square meters automotive
Up until a few years ago, the racing cars were still in a workshop with barred windows at the Dauphin office furniture factory. With every car icon, the passion grew and the space smaller. Until the Dauphins discovered the approximately 4000 square meter former elevator factory, bought it and had it renovated in an architecturally valuable way. Elke Dauphin designed the 9000 square meter park, which is also part of the event location to be rented.
Dauphin Speed Event is an insider tip and a paradise for car and motorbike lovers, word has got around. Not least because titles such as Capital, Wirtschaftswoche, Manager Magazin, Handelsblatt and Financial Times Deutschland report on the Dauphin family's exclusive fleet.
World famous Porsche and Ferrari at Dauphin
The models on display show the development history of important European brands. They are technological milestones and illustrate the ingenuity of the manufacturers. The oldest model: a Bugatti T35 B from 1929. The car with the most horsepower: Ferrari 365 GTC/4 Daytona Spider, with 348 hp the fastest convertible at the time. The rarest car is probably the Muti Alfa, a one-off production as a touring cabriolet.
Many Porsche among the rarities
Porsches include the world-famous Rennspyder RS 61 and 904 GTS as well as the 550 Spyder, Ferrari's 250 GT SWB California Spider, among others, and two Mercedes 300 SLs. The legendary Gullwing with its gullwing doors from 1955 is also part of the collection. Furthermore, the most beautiful and most important models from Aston Martin, BMW, Maserati, Lancia - in short, the cream of European brands, including a number of models from the pre-war period.
World Champion John Surtees' motorcycle
The most prominent motorcycle in the collection is the MV Agusta GP 500 racing machine from 1959, purchased by world champion John Surtees. In general, manufacturer and collector Friedrich-Wilhelm Dauphin prefers to buy his classic cars directly from the owner and not at auctions. “It's particularly exciting because you get to know the most interesting people. And there are extraordinary experiences,” says Dauphin.
Both cars and motorcycles are operational with a few exceptions. Top up oil and petrol, check the brakes and battery and the vehicles are ready to drive. They are used in various classic car races throughout Europe. From the Gaisberg race in Salzburg, to the Mille Miglia, Ennstal Classic, the vintage car Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, to the Concours d'Elegance / Schwetzingen Castle and Woodstock/England.
There are about 10 comparable private collections in Germany, but very few of them are publicly accessible. Dauphin Speed Event is the only combined collection of top-class cars and motorcycles that is also linked to a large event hall. The combination of event, car and motorcycle is new and almost unique, at least in Germany.

Adults: 10 euros
Pupils (7 to 12 years): 5 euros
Guided tour (min. 20 p.): 200 euros (each additional person 8 euros)
The extraordinary location offers space for up to 450 people. It is available to all interested parties for relevant events and visits – after registration.
