In Beijing at the Beijing Auto China 2012, Porsche is presenting the new Porsche Cayenne GTS at a world premiere. The second-generation Porsche Cayenne offers seating comfort like that of an SUV and driving pleasure like that of a sports car. Porsche wants to score points with the GTS with even more engine power, more dynamic power delivery, a firmer chassis with lowered suspension and decidedly sporty equipment.
In its appearance, the new GTS is clearly differentiated from the Porsche Cayenne S and the turbo version, the Cayenne Turbo. A performance-optimized 4,8 liter V8 engine with 420 hp or 309 kW works in the Porsche Cayenne GTS. It is based on the engine of the Cayenne S. The power transmission is handled by the eight-speed Tiptronic S with integrated auto start-stop function. The Cayenne GTS sprints to 5,7 km/h in 100 seconds and reaches 13,3 km/h in 160 seconds.
The top speed of the new GTS is 261 km/h. Porsche specifies the consumption of the lifestyle SUV as 10,7 liters per 100 kilometers.
The chassis was tuned tighter and is equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). Compared to the Porsche Cayenne S, the body has been lowered again by 24 mm. It is even more ambitious on the road and moves like a sports car with confidence and agility.
Porsche Cayenne GTS
The new generation of the GTS reinforces its visually strong appearance with a black frame and strips as well as the front of the Cayenne Turbo. Wider wheel arches, dominant rocker panels and a roof spoiler also ensure a sporty appearance.
The interior of the Porsche Cayenne GTS is also sporty and dynamic. In addition to leather upholstery with Alcantara parts, this includes standard front sports seats with eight-fold adjustment options for the passengers.
The new Cayenne GTS SUV sports car will be available from July 2012 at a price of 90.774 euros. As a target group for the 420 hp GTS, Porsche is targeting sporty, ambitious SUV and Porsche fans.
