Hans-Joachim Stuck drives the Porsche 356 in the Mille Miglia

The famous motorsport legend Hans-Joachim Stuck is taking part in the Mille Miglia this year as a brand ambassador for Porsche. The Mille Miglia, which begins on May 16 and ends on May 19, 2013, runs over 1.600 kilometers from Brescia to Rome and back again. Porsche is taking part in the legendary race this year with a Porsche 356 Speedster, a 356 Coupé and two Porsche 550 Spyders.

Racing legend Hans-Joachim Stuck, two-time winner of the 24-hour race in Le Mans and DTM champion, drives a Porsche 356 from 1954. The model variant of the Porsche 356, also known as the “bent window”, impresses with a windscreen that was used for the first time at the time without center bar.

Porsche celebrates many significant successes in the thousand miles of Italy, especially in the 50s. As early as 1952, a Porsche 356 won a class. The GT victory of Hans Herrmann in the Porsche 550 Spyder in 1954 is still one of the most important successes of the sports car manufacturer.

Also today is the Mille Miglia a challenge for the vintage cars and their participants. It leads through the most beautiful landscapes in Italy and different weather zones. During this time, the pilots and co-drivers have little opportunity to enjoy it, as the distance is covered in just three days.
