With the eighth generation of its series, the British luxury brand Jaguar has created a new platform for the Jaguar XJ luxury sedan. It shines with a mixture of superior performance, luxury and modern engine and operating technology. With the Sport and Speed Packs, Jaguar is now increasing the performance potential of the XJ models in terms of both driving dynamics and looks.
The Exterior Sport Pack sets the XJ apart from regular Jaguar models with special features. From the outside, the aerodynamic modifications give the XJ an even more dynamic impression. The sporty appearance is rounded off by newly developed 20-inch alloy wheels.
Customers of the 510 hp supercharged V8 with a displacement of five liters can exclusively select the Speed Pack, which also includes the Exterior Sport Pack. By optimizing the performance of the engine control and the aerodynamic components, the top speed of the Briton has been increased from 250 to 280 kilometers per hour.
Jaguar XJ – luxury sedan with splitter
As a result of extensive wind tunnel testing and test driving, all XJs with the Exterior Sport Pack receive an additional 'splitter' in the front bumper. At high speeds, it guides the air under the vehicle, thereby reducing lift on the front axle. An enlarged spoiler lip painted in the vehicle color is used at the rear, which increases downforce on the rear axle. The modifications increase directional stability at high speeds.
In addition to the aerodynamic fine-tuning, there are a number of optical detail changes that Jaguar XJ with Exterior Sport Pack stand out from a high-volume model. This gives the radiator grille an insert painted glossy black; the lower mesh grille and those of the side air outlets also shine in the identical finish. Tinted rear side windows also ensure discretion and privacy in the rear of the Jaguar.
Sports pack for the big cat
The 20-inch "Venom" design alloy wheels are an eye-catcher: Red-painted brake calipers with embossed Jaguar lettering shimmer through their openings. The diamond-turned wheels catch the eye with a shiny silver finish and five split spokes. An exhaust system with split tailpipes will be available shortly.
The new Sport Pack also creates luxurious sportiness in the cockpit of the big cat. The driver and front passenger sit on sports seats, which ensure safe lateral support in the event of high lateral acceleration forces. Covered with soft soft-grain leather, they offer an electric 18-way adjustment - including for the enlarged and variably adjustable side pads. A tailor-made seating position can be adjusted for all statures. In addition, each seat is actively heated or cooled individually. And in the footwell, pedals made of polished stainless steel with engraved Jaguar lettering await accelerator and brake pedals.
The shape and appearance of the rear seat have also been adapted to match the front seats. Interested customers have a choice of two interior color combinations: Jet/Jet or the contrasting Ivory/Jet color scheme with black leather instrument panel top and door panels and Ivory seats. Both options are complemented by a premium velor headlining.
For the XJ 5.0 L V8 compressor with Sport and Speed Pack, Jaguar also offers equipment in Jet/Jet with red contrasting stitching. Panels in Piano Black or Carbon Fiber reflect the sportiness of the Jaguar XJ.
