Crucial for the increase in range is a new lithium-ion polymer battery with an increased capacity from 27 to 30 kWh. At the same time, Kia was able to tweak the efficiency screw and reduce power consumption from 14,7 to 14,3 kWh per 100 kilometers. Instead of the previous 212 kilometers, the Soul EV will travel 250 kilometers with one charge. The mileage, on the other hand, remains almost unchanged: instead of 11,2, the 81 kW / 110 PS electric motor, which continues to accelerate, now accelerates the 1,5-tonne vehicle from 11,3 to 100 km / h in 145 seconds; As before, the top speed is limited to XNUMX km / h.
After the deduction of the still granted 4.000 euros electric car purchase premium, the entry-level version Plug, which will cost 25.500 euros in the future, offers extensive standard equipment. It includes two-zone automatic climate control, infotainment navigation system, cruise control, hands-free system, DAB radio and seat heating. For around 2.000 euros surcharge, there is the Play version, which also offers electric mirrors, battery heating and a quick charge connection according to the Chademo standard; the basic version has to make do with the slow standard loader.
