Mercedes-AMG GT facelift ready for lap two

The AMG GT is by nature a car with a lot of external impact. Probably that is why the sporty Mercedes subsidiary has taken care of the completed now facelift of the two-seater especially on a fine touch of the interior.

At the Los Angeles Auto Show (November 30 - December 9), the Mercedes subsidiary AMG is presenting the GT sports car in a version that has been revised in many details. At the beginning of next year, the two-seater will be launched as a coupé and roadster with a number of innovations.

Among the exterior features of the facelift include, inter alia, integrated into the headlights LED daytime running lights with turn signal function, darkened taillights as well as the weaker versions modified rear aprons with new diffuser insert and new Endohrblenden-Stylings. The interior has been extensively modified. Thus, instead of analogue round instruments, a large 12,3 display will be used as an instrument cluster in the future, displaying information relevant to driving in the three graphics modes Classic, Sporting and Supersport. To the right of this, the 10,25 inch display of the infotainment system sits enthroned in the center of the dashboard. Also new is the positioning of the engine start / stop button, which has moved closer to the steering wheel. So far, this was in the center console, which also presents itself in a new look. Among other things, the previously round buttons were replaced by rectangular display buttons. In addition, the new performance steering wheel will be mounted in future, which also offers touch-control switches below the spokes.

A new driving dynamics control program called AMG Dynamics, which promises more agility with maximum stability, as well as a data logger for track use called Track Pace will be part of the extended software arsenal.

In addition to the previous model variants GT (350 kW / 476 PS), GT S (384 kW / 522 PS), GTC (410 kW / 557 PS) and GT R (430 kW / 585 PS), AMG extends the offer by one to 750 Specimens limited, optimized for race track use model variant called GT R Pro. This has the same drive as the standard R, but should be thanks to chassis modifications, lightweight construction and improved aerodynamics better lap times on racetracks possible.

Prices for the new GT Mercedes-AMG does not yet, but given the many innovations in the interior, a moderate increase seems likely. Currently the GT Coupé costs around 118.000 Euro.
