Opel Astra five-door with biturbo - more diesel power

The new edition of the launched at the end of 2015 Opel Astra has passed her baptism of fire. After the bread-and-butter models, the Rüsselsheim-based company is now adding a more powerful version for the five-door model. Thanks to the double forced ventilation, the 1,6-liter biturbo diesel mobilizes 118 kW / 160 PS and 350 Newtonmeter torque.

The Biturbo is already available for the Astra station wagon launched in spring 2016. Now customers can also order it for the classic five-door model. The manufacturer specifies the sprint time with 8,6 seconds, the top speed should be 220 km / h. The Astra is also strong in the intermediate sprint: in fifth gear, the sprint from 80 to 120 km / h should last 7,5 seconds. In return, fuel consumption remains modest, at least according to the test bench measurement: Between 4,1 and 4,2 liters, consumption should be in the NEDC cycle.

The five-door Opel Astra with the 1,6-liter biturbo can now be ordered. In terms of price, the powerful diesel engine demands a high level of willingness to invest, because it is only offered from the high-quality Dynamic range. Accordingly, you have to leaf through at least 27.310 euros and in return receive extensive equipment. (Mario Hommen / SP-X)
