Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport - The budget racing car

Based on the Cayman GT4 has Porsche With the Club Sport version, an affordable racing car will be on offer in the future. Instead of leaving the conversion to customers on their own, the Swabian engineers have now put a racing version on the slicks themselves.

The GT4 Clubsport offers a radically emptied interior. There is a narrow bucket seat for the driver, and there is only a fire extinguisher on the passenger side. Any unnecessary cladding has been blown out, not only the controls for the optional air conditioning and the PDK selector lever are a little lost in nothing.

Properly read, the club sport is only available with dual-clutch transmission. Both professionals and less experienced drivers can change gears in shifting paddles on demanding racetracks, keeping both hands on the steering wheel.

Unlike the gearbox, Porsche has taken over the club sport engine from the GT4: the still free-breathing 3,8-liter six-cylinder boxer borrowed from the old Carrera S delivers 283 kW / 385 PS and with 420 Newton meters of torque ensures a violent kick in the cross , The chassis consists largely of 911-GT3 components. There is also a mechanical rear axle lock and a racing brake system. Also standard: a welded roll cage and an 90 liter tank, so that with a consumption of around 50 liters per 100 kilometer in racing use a good hour without a fuel stop is possible.

For 132.090 Euro, customers will receive a racing car that weighs only 1.300 kilograms, with which they can race at the VLN Endurance Championship or the GT4 series - and with relatively little effort when needed. If you don't want to bring along a complete team of technicians and a mobile workshop, you can prepare the GT4 Clubsport at home at the Porsche dealer and have it repaired there after the race if necessary.
