The one drawn by Bertone Alfa Romeo Giulia GT is still considered to be a real beauty today. Technically, however, it has long been a thing of the past. That should change with Restomod Emilia.
Emilia Auto from Hamburg is actually on the trade in historical Sportcars specialized. Now, together with Vela Performance, the Hanseatic League wants to launch the Alfa Romeo Giulia GT Veloce from the 1960s in a technically highly modernized restomod. 22 copies are to be built from next year at a unit price of around 400.000 euros.
New landing gear
The basis for the small series are historical originals, which are visually discreet, but technically profoundly modified. In order to equip the vehicle for the use of a 375 kW / 510 PS strong V6 engine, among other things a new and high-strength substructure was developed, which is married to the historical body, which has only been modified in details. The chassis will also be completely rebuilt with independent wheel suspension all around, double wishbone front axle, multi-link rear axle and electronically controlled limited-slip differential. Sport brakes from Brembo, power steering, 19-inch aluminum as well as ABS and traction control are also on board.
Rear axle power for Restomod Emilia
Mileage is not mentioned, but given its weight of around 1,3 tons, it should be beyond any doubt. The 2,9-liter BiTurbo V6 comes from the current Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. In the Restomod-Giulia, like this one, the power is sent to the rear axle via the eight-speed automatic.
In addition to the sheet metal skin, the historic interior of the 60s Giulia is to be largely preserved. At the same time, with automatic air conditioning, multimedia system and Recaro sports seats, contemporary comfort is moving in. So that tall drivers can also find space, the original rear seat has been removed.
