Volvo's sister brand Polestar wants to significantly expand its model range. The start of this offensive is the electric SUV 3, of which there is now a first photo.
In October 2022 will Polestar present its new electric model 3 to the public. Before the official premiere, the Swedish Geely subsidiary has now published a first photo of its SUV model, which will be available from 2023. On display is a lavishly dimensioned five-door model that is fitted with sporty 22-inch Pirelli tires. Other special features of the Polestar 3 are a panoramic glass roof in XL format, striking LED light graphics and door handles flush with the sheet metal.
Denoted 3 Polestar as “Luxury Aero SUV”, which will compete against larger and more expensive SUV models like a Porsche Cayenne. The upcoming model will have a range of more than 600 kilometers and a powerful dual-motor all-wheel drive. Lidar technology is also planned for the noble Swede, with the help of which autonomous driving on the motorway should be possible.
Technically, the purely electrically powered Polestar 3 will share the platform with its sister model, among others Volvo XC90 share, the third generation of which will roll off the assembly line together with the Polestar in Volvo's US plant in Charleston/South Carolina starting next year.
