Tuner MANSORY refines the Mercedes-Benz AMG GLS 63

Premium tuner MANSORY from the Bavarian town of Brand in the Fichtelgebirge is one of the top addresses for the tuning of luxury automobiles. For the current project, the car-savvy technicians took the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 as the starting point for a powerful performance boost and an optimized SUV body design.

Visible carbon and wide appearance

Sporty elegance characterizes the look of the body modifications: the larger air intakes of the new front apron in connection with the integrated daytime running lights and a lift-reducing visible carbon fiber front lip give the Mercedes-Benz AMG GLS 63 an even more dynamic face. A weight-optimized bonnet completes the newly designed front. Imposing extensions allow the front and rear fenders to expand by 25mm at the front and 40mm at the rear. They are also responsible for the powerful overall appearance of the modified GLS.

Power SUV rolls on 23" rims

The new side skirts were modeled in such a way that they calm the airflow on the flanks and make the SUV coupe appear lower and stretched. To reduce the lift forces on the rear axle, the tuners from Brand installed an elegant spoiler on the original tailgate of the Mercedes. In combination with a diffuser rear apron, this provides additional downforce.

In keeping with the powerful appearance, MANSORY uses rims in 22" or optionally in 23" design. The very light, forged wheel was specially developed for the increased requirements of heavy SUVs.

The recommended wheel and tire combination for the Mercedes-Benz AMG GLS 63 is 10.5×23 inches on the front and rear axles with tires measuring 305/35/23. The new light-alloy wheels with the lowering module for the air suspension are particularly attractive. If desired, this lowers the center of gravity of the GLS 63 by up to 30 millimeters, thereby improving handling when cornering at high speed.

Matt gray star cruiser with 840 hp

The heart of the new star cruiser, however, is the power increase of the engine. The scope of the upgrade includes a sports rear silencer, a sports air filter and a new engine management system. For the unit of the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63, this results in approx. 840 hp / 618 kW of power and a torque increased to 1150 Nm. That's around 250 hp more than the original. In addition, the maximum speed increases by approx. 45 km/h compared to the standard values.

Luxurious carbon and leather interior

A highlight of the interior is the ergonomically redesigned sports steering wheel. Thanks to its new shape, it feels much better in the hand and still offers all the functions that can also be found in the series. In the in-house upholstery shop, the valance is covered with fine leather and fitted with visible carbon applications. Visually, the carbon fits in perfectly with the rest of the color scheme of the luxurious all-leather interior.

As you can see in the photos, this Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 from MANSORY will probably not be used on European roads for the time being due to its right-hand drive. We are excited to see where we will see him on the asphalt again in the future.
